Bob Beers

Candidate for City Council, Ward 2.

Beers, 52, is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner who is the managing partner of Seale & Beers, CPAs. He served in the Nevada Legislature from 1998-2008 where he was vice-chair of the Finance Committee, and also served on the committees that oversee local governments. After leading a group of Assemblymen who opposed the 2003 tax-and-spend hike on the grounds it was not fairly debated and could damage the Las Vegas economy, pro-tax opponents labeled Beers as “extreme.” Of course, time has proven Beers and other critics of the tax hike correct – most people now agree that the immense, nearly 50% tax-and-spend hike was extreme, and that it continues to hold the Las Vegas economy back.
